Viddler is a video hosting site that allows users to upload large videos, up to 500 Mb in size. This is an obvious advantage over YouTube which limits videos to 10 minutes in length. In addition, Viddler supports tagging of sections within video, which is useful for highlighting points of interest.

The Viddler player uses Flash to display videos. It has two main modes:

• PROGRESSIVE, which downloads the entire movie from the start, and
• STREAMING, which allows you to seek to any point in the movie

To toggle between modes, click on the word "PROGRESSIVE" or "STREAMING" at the bottom left of the player. You can click on the comment marks in the time-line to jump to that position, but this may not do anything if you are in PROGRESSIVE mode, and the time is in advance of what has been downloaded.
